Does the manufacturer warranty apply?

In principle yes: a manufacturer warranty applies across Europe and can also be used in the German authorised network. Whether a vehicle has a manufacturer warranty is stated in its listing. Start date and scope follow the manufacturer terms, usually from first registration or delivery.

What are COC documents?

The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) confirms conformity with the EU type approval. Before buying, confirm which original documents will be supplied. Your registration authority can tell you which documents it requires.

Pre-registered, stock vehicle or factory order?

Stock vehicles have already been built, with equipment and colour fixed. For pre-registered cars, check first registration and warranty start in particular. Factory orders may offer configuration options but generally need more lead time. Always check the specific vehicle’s delivery status. EV subsidies have additional eligibility requirements.

What do WLTP consumption and CO₂ classes mean?

WLTP is a standardised test procedure for comparing vehicle consumption and emissions. The figures in an offer apply to its powertrain and equipment. Driving style, temperature, load and route can change real-world consumption.

For electric cars, also compare electricity consumption and range. For plug-in hybrids, consumption with a depleted battery is relevant too. The CO₂ class complements the figures but does not replace checking the actual consumption and your driving needs.
